Project Overview
The Burtch 3 DCC project is the reconstruction of Burtch Road between Highway 97 and Glenmore Road to a four-lane arterial, in coordination with the redevelopment of Parkinson Recreation Centre. The project was recommended in the 2040 Transportation Master Plan to improve the north-south connectivity and traffic capacity between Glenmore Road and KLO Road (in conjunction with the Burtch Extension).

The project includes upgrades and widening to Burtch, Bernard and intersection improvements at Bernard/Glenmore, Bernard/Burtch, Burtch/Lawrence, and Burtch/Harvey. Active transportation improvements are also included in the project scope. Preliminary design was initiated in 2023. Detailed design and construction will be coordinated with the redevelopment of the Parkinson Recreation Centre. Construction is anticipated in 2026/27.

Timeline
Construction of the project is expected to begin in March 2026 with completion anticipated by Fall 2027.
