Activity Centre in Glenmore

The future activity centre in Glenmore is envisioned as more than just a building—it is designed to serve as the heart of the Glenmore community. This two-storey building will be a stand-alone centre located within Glenmore Recreation Park, addressing a significant gap in local amenities. Currently, the Glenmore neighbourhood has very few indoor recreation facilities, and none that are solely operated by the City. This vibrant, all-ages hub will provide flexible program areas for both recreational and competitive sport, art, music and community events all while supporting activities in the park.

A competition gymnasium that can also accommodate large social gatherings, will hold activities such as basketball, and volleyball, while dedicated kids’ areas and social spaces will ensure inclusive programming for all residents. This centre includes an express Okanagan Regional Library branch and will feature 91 childcare spaces with support through the provincial ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund, fostering opportunities for people of all ages to learn, move, grow and celebrate together.

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026 as an extension of the broader Glenmore Recreation Park Plan. Once complete, the facility will create a lasting space where connection and activity thrive for generations to come.
