Tell us how you want to see Knox Mountain Drive used in the future!
The City has launched a public survey on the future use of Knox Mountain Drive. Get involved and have your say – Complete the survey here.
Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to receive one of three The Local Gift Cards, valued at $100, $50 and $50 each. The survey is open until 8 a.m. on Monday, May 31. We encourage everyone who loves Knox Mountain Park to share with us how they use the park and what they want to see for the future use of Knox Mountain Drive.
Knox Mountain Drive is currently closed to vehicles due to COVID-19, while the City assesses its future use parameters. The City is considering whether vehicles should be permitted on the roadway and, if so, under what conditions. Survey responses will be combined with safety analysis, technical road standards, current park usage data and other factors to make a final recommendation to Council by early summer.
The review of Knox Mountain Drive is also one part of a larger project to develop an update to the Knox Mountain Park Management Plan, which will continue through 2021 and guide the park’s management over the next 10 years. It will include a comprehensive review of the park’s ecological status and amenities, and a work plan to guide the park through the next decade. Follow the project page at getinvolved.kelowna.ca if you want to ask questions about the project or receive regular updates about the project.
