The City of Kelowna, in partnership with the Central Okanagan School District’s Welcome Centre, invites all parents and guardians to attend the next event in a series of free parenting information sessions on key community safety topics and what you need to know to help keep your kids safe.
The topic of this upcoming information session is “Raising Digitally Responsible Youth," in which a City Community Safety Advisor will build awareness and answer questions on safety issues such as:
· online sexual exploitation
· understanding the difference between real friends versus risky internet relationships
· the growing threat of online luring and grooming
· dangers associated with various social media apps
· where and how to report unsafe digital activity
· additional digital safety resources for parents, guardians and youth
