Detours underway in Southeast Kelowna

May 12, 2026

The Stewart Rd. West and Bedford Rd. intersection, as well as portions of Bedford Rd. and Stewart Rd. are now closed as phase two of the Stewart Road West Road Improvement project begins. Motorists should follow detour signage in place for both northbound and southbound traffic. The detour route goes along Dehart Rd., Crawford Rd. and back to Stewart Rd. West. Closures will remain in place until approximately August 2026.

Construction work will support road realignment, new street lighting, the addition of bike lanes, relocation of utilities and the addition of new storm infrastructure.

Phase one of this project focused on the Dehart Rd., Casorso Rd. and Bedford Rd. intersection, which included surface and underground works. This portion of the project was recently completed, with the intersection being reopened to the public on May 1.

Please abide by safety personnel instructions, posted construction signage, and fencing to ensure everyone’s safety while commuting through the area.

Businesses and wineries in the area remain open and accessible during construction and appreciate your continued business during this time.

Crews appreciate your patience during construction and apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
