Strong Neighbourhoods
Neighbourliness is the core of a thriving community — and it starts with simple actions close to home.
Give a kind neighbour kudo
Has your neighbour shown kindness, offered help, or made a positive impact? Nominate them for a Kind Neighbour Kudo. It’s a simple way to recognize everyday actions that strengthen community.
Nominate Now
Your nominee will:
- receive a small gift, a thank‑you card, a personalized Kind Neighbour certificate from Strong Neighbourhoods; and
- be entered to win Kelowna Community Theatre tickets in the next draw that happens in February, May, August, or November.
Practice everyday neighbourliness
Neighbourliness doesn’t require big gestures, it grows through small, simple habits that offer kindness, strengthen safety, and build belonging.

Meeting new neighbours can feel intimidating, but simple conversation starters, connector cards, and calling cards can make it easier to break the ice and keep the momentum going.

Knowing who to call keeps your neighbourhood safe.
- Print the Who to Call brochure and keep it handy.
- Remember: 911 is for emergencies only — when someone’s health, safety, or property is at risk, or a crime is in progress.
- For everything else, use the appropriate non‑emergency contacts.

Know a neighbour who makes a difference—someone who helps others, shows kindness, or shows up with fresh baking? We want to hear about them. Nominate a neighbour for a Kind Neighbour Kudo before the draw date for another chance to win.
Be a Snow Angel this winter
Snow Angels are neighbours who help clear snow for people who may have difficulty doing it themselves. Help your neighbours clear their walks or nominate a Snow Angel who lent a helping hand.
