Project Overview:
The City of Kelowna is working on a series of urbanization investments to make Core Area neighbourhoods connected and safe for all users by construction new sidewalks where none exist, improving drainage with curb and gutter and adding trees to improve Kelowna’s green canopy. The projects are guided by policies within the 2040 Official Community Plan (OCP) and Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The cross-section design will be based on the City’s Core Area Local Cross-section, as outlined in the City’s Subdivision and Servicing Bylaw. See image below for cross-section example.

Project Scope:
The roadway will also be urbanized, which includes a new storm water management system, curb and gutter, sidewalk, parallel parking, tree planting in boulevards, shared travel lane and undergrounding of overhead utilities.

Timeline:
Project is in design 2025 and is tentatively scheduled for construction in spring 2026.

Construction Impacts:
Construction activities are anticipated to occur in 2026. Residents, businesses, and others impacted by construction will be provided with notice in advance.
