Timberline PRV Renewal
The Timberline PRV (pressure reducing valve) station is located in the southern edge of Kelowna on the Swick Rd water system and services approximately 20 large single family homes. The station was constructed in 1981 and houses two undersized valves that are showing significant signs of corrosion and deterioration. The facility's electrical panel and kiosk is contained in a nearby, above ground enclosure just off of the road right of way.
Proposed upgrades to this station involve decommissioning the vault within the road right of way and installing an above ground valve chamber adjacent to the electrical kiosk. This will remove the requirement of confined space entry and improve conditions for pipe longevity.
