Royal View Transmission Main
Project overview
The Royal View Transmission project will oversee the installation of a new, large diameter water transmission main from the Knox Mountain Reservoirs and will tie-in with existing water infrastructure at the Ethel Street and Weddell Place intersection. Once complete, this new main will help provide additional conveyance capacity and a dedicated source of drinking water to the areas south and east of downtown. As the demand for potable water continues, this new main will be a critical replacement to the currently undersized Royal View Transmission main located atop a slope with known slide risk.
Timeline
Construction began Spring 2025 in the urban, residential area of the project limits and is now focused in Knox Mountain Park and the Weddell Pl and Ethel St intersection. Project completion is targeted for mid-2026 with landscape restoration within Knox Park to be on an ongoing basis following construction completion.
