Public Service Announcement

Kelowna is set to come alive this Canada Day with a full day of celebrations in Waterfront Park, the Cultural District and Prospera Place. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a vibrant lineup of free, family-friendly activities while planning ahead for road closures, parking restrictions and community safety measures.

Full day of celebration

The 27th annual Canada Day Festival runs from 11 a.m. - 10:30 p.m., featuring live music, cultural performances, interactive activities and spectacular fireworks finale over Tugboat Bay.

Highlights throughout the day include:

  • Multiple live performance stages, including TD Beach Stage and Valley First Power Stage
  • Folkfest at Prospera Place with cultural showcases and international food
  • Made in Canada Marketplace, Family Zone and community group showcase
  • Touchdown Kelowna Fan Fest, adding energy and sport focused programming
  • Fireworks finale from 10 - 10:30 p.m.

Community safety is a shared responsibility

Canada Day is one of the city’s busiest days of the year, and safety remains a top priority.

Kelowna RCMP, Bylaw Services and Fire Department crews will have an enhanced presence across the city, including additional foot, bike, and boat patrols to support public safety.

The Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) has approved a fireworks permit for Canada Day celebrations; however, weather conditions, including wind and drought, will be closely monitored to assess wildfire risk. If conditions are deemed unsafe, fireworks displays may be postponed or cancelled. Personal fireworks and sky lanterns remain prohibited within city limits.

Road closures and parking impacts

To support event setup and ensure public safety, several road closures and parking restrictions will be in place. Water Street between Cawston Avenue and Sunset Drive will be closed from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Waterfront promenade closures begin on June 30 from 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. for event set up. The Dolphins parking lot will be closed from 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.
