Knox Mountain Park remains open during utility improvements
Public Service Announcement
Starting in early October, construction will begin in Knox Mountain Park as part of the Royal View Transmission Main project. This work will enhance underground water infrastructure in Kelowna’s North End.
The park will remain open during construction with no planned trail closures. Parking may be temporarily limited, and the disc golf course will be closed for most of the project. Park users should expect increased traffic on Knox Mountain Drive during construction hours.
Visitors are asked to abide by safety personnel instructions, posted construction signage and fencing to ensure everyone’s safety while in the area.
The Royal View Transmission Main will deliver additional drinking water from the Knox Mountain Reservoirs, supporting growth and resiliency in Kelowna’s core. It will also replace an aging main located on a slope with known slide risks.
Work is scheduled for the fall and winter months to minimize impacts on park users. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2026. Construction hours are typically Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional work during evenings or overnight to reduce the overall construction timeline.
The City of Kelowna appreciates your patience during these utility upgrades and apologizes in advance for any inconvenience. For more information visit kelowna.ca/cityprojects.
