Union of BC Municipalities convention
Council was updated on the annual UBCM convention, in Victoria from September 22 to 26, 2025, that brings together 189 local governments from across B.C. to collaborate on shared priorities, shape policy, and engage directly with provincial ministers. The City of Kelowna’s delegation will advance Council’s advocacy priorities through minister meetings, panel participation, and strategic networking.
Urban parks
Council endorsed a plan to simultaneously design and build several Urban Neighbourhood Parks at the same time, to save time and money. By bundling the projects, the City can streamline design, community engagement, and construction. This approach also helps coordinate upgrades to nearby roads and infrastructure and will be reflected in the upcoming 10-year Capital Plan.
