Summer is officially here and we have a packed season full of free events for friends, family, neighbours and seniors at neighbourhood parks near you. Make new connections, try a new activity or just get out and enjoy the Kelowna sunshine with friends and family.

  1. Dancing in the Park
    All ages  |  Wednesday nights from July 8 – August 26  |  6:30 – 7:45 p.m.  |  Stuart Park

    Dance along with a qualified instructor at Stuart Park - try a different style of dance every week. No advance registration is required. Just show up! All ages, abilities and experiences are welcome. You’ll be working up a sweat, so be sure to bring a water bottle.
  2. Sunset Yoga
    All ages  |  Wednesday nights from July 8 – August 26  |  8 – 9 p.m.  |  Stuart Park

    Enjoy the sunset with a yoga practice taught by a qualified instructor at Stuart Park. All ages, abilities and experiences are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat. This event follows Dancing in the Park, which runs from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Join us for both events or just one. No advance registration is required.
  3. Roller Nights
    All ages  |  Tuesday nights from July 7 – August 25  |  7:30 – 9:30 p.m.  |  Stuart Park

    Come roll with us! Bring your inline or roller skates (plus your helmet) for an evening of skating and music with friends. No advance registration is required. All ages, abilities and experiences are welcome. No skates? No problem! Skate rentals are available on-site.
  4. Park & Play
    For families  |  Weeknights from July 2 – August 21  |  5 – 8 p.m.  |  Various parks

    Discover outdoor fun at Park & Play, a free event for all ages! Join us in various parks across the city to enjoy recreational activities like ladderball, inflatables, giant board games, and more. Bring your family, friends, and neighbours for an evening of fun. Plus, Festivals Kelowna’s ParksAlive! program will even be on-site four different times this summer with musical entertainment! Find the schedule online.
  5. Meet me on Bernard
    All ages  |  May 15 – September 7  |  all day  |  200 & 300 blocks of Bernard Avenue

    Meet Me on Bernard is a vibrant outdoor pedestrian zone in downtown Kelowna. Find your groove with live music, connect with friends on a sun-drenched patio, shop at exciting retailers or just stroll through and soak up the good vibes. Plus, there’s lots of free weekly events and markets happening to enjoy all season. See the events calendar at downtownkelowna.com.
  6. Kelowna Made
    All ages  |  August 14 – 16  |  Various times  | City Park

    Kelowna Made is a celebration that offers inclusive fun for everyone. Join thousands of people of all ages for a day of fun, family-friendly activities at Kelowna Made. Smile, laugh, try some new things and make some great memories with friends, both old and new. There are so many ways to get involved and have fun at Kelowna Made. With a variety of activities, there really is something for everyone!
  7. Neighbourhood Pulse Pop-Ups
    For adults  |  Third Thursday of every month from May to October  |  Various times  |  Various parks

    Explore the vibrant and unique spirit of our neighbourhoods. From comedy to trivia, bingo, and outdoor movie night, we're igniting connections among neighbours and celebrating the essence of our community at these monthly events. Events are geared toward an adult audience and will feature a new activity in a different park. Bring your friends or family and join us in your neighbourhood this summer!
  8. Connections Over Coffee
    For seniors  |  First Tuesday of every month from May to September  |  10 – 11:30 a.m.  |  Various parks

    Connections Over Coffee is a free, fun, and friendly gathering for seniors to meet in neighbourhood parks, enjoy coffee and a tasty treat. Come for good company, stay for laughter, activities, and connections. No need to sign-up - just show up!

Plus, the PRC Summer Youth Passes are back this summer! The PRC Summer Youth Pass ($25) and Rec & Ride Combo Pass ($60) offer a flexible, low-cost option to keep kids active between camp days. Youth can access swimming, fitness and drop-in sports at Parkinson Recreation Centre all summer long, with the added benefit of unlimited BC Transit travel for teens with the Rec & Ride pass, making it easy to get to activities and back home safely. It’s a simple way to stay busy, stay active and stay connected all summer.
