PRC Summer Youth Passes

The PRC Summer Youth Pass and Rec & Ride Combo Pass is on sale now! 

Kelowna's kids can stay active, connected and having fun all summer with the PRC Summer Youth Pass and Rec & Ride Combo Pass. Available for ages 18 and under (6 and under are free!), this discounted pass options offer access to Parkinson Recreation Centre throughout July and August, making it easy for youth to swim, work out, play sports and stay engaged all summer long.

Cost

  • PRC Summer Youth Pass - ages 7-18:  Only $25
    Access to Parkinson Recreation Centre throughout July and August including themed days and youth-oriented activities.  
  • Rec & Ride Combo Pass - ages 13-18: Only $60
    Access to BC Transit and Parkinson Recreation Centre throughout July and August including themed days and youth-oriented activities.  

Purchase your pass on site at Parkinson Recreation Centre (1800 Parkinson Way)

A responsible guardian (16+) who is supervising Rec & Ride pass holders under 13 years of age can pay a $2 drop-in fee at PRC when they visit the facility together. 

BC Transit

For transit access for those 13+, a BC Transit Umo Pass will be provided at time of purchase. For existing Umo account holders, we will add the Rec and Ride pass to the app, or issue a new Umo card for those without an existing account. Umo will allow pass holders to easily scan their card or app when boarding the bus.

Summer 2026 Youth Pass Schedule 

New this summer, join us at Gyro Beach every Monday night (there's a Transit stop close by perfect for Rec and Ride pass holders) from 6-8 to take part in multi-sport activities on the Beach Courts!  We'll have an instructor on site with equipment to get in the game.

What is included in the Rec and Ride Combo pass?

The Rec & Ride Summer Combo Pass is just $60, over $150 in savings!
The pass includes:

  • Unlimited rides on BC Transit buses, anywhere within the Kelowna Regional Transit System:
    • A separate BC Transit Umo Pass (either card or activation code to be used on the Umo app) will be provided at time of purchase for transit use.
  • Unlimited access to Parkinson Recreation Centre through the PRC Summer Youth Pass including:
    • Drop-in activities
    • Swimming at the pool 
    • Gym activities like basketball 
    • Fitness and weight room access (ages 13+)
    • Outdoor activities including basketball, ball hockey and chalk drawing
    • Theme days for youth including Sno Cone days, Popcorn days and more!

Passes are valid from July 1 until Aug 31, 2026.

How old does my child need to be to access the pool and/or fitness centre?

All ages are welcome in the pool, but children under 7 years of age need to always have a parent or caregiver 16 years or older within arm's reach. The fitness centre is open to everyone ages 13 and up.

Is the Summer Youth Pass for Kelowna residents only?

Anyone ages 7-18 (under 6 are free at PRC) can purchase a pass, regardless of where you live. Please note that proof of age must be presented at the time of purchase.

When are the passes available for purchase?

Passes are available for purchase from June 4 until August 4, 2026.

 

Is the pass refundable?

Sorry, passes are not eligible for refund once purchased.

What if my child already has a PRC membership?

Memberships can be put on hold for the summer so families can take advantage of the Summer Youth Pass options.  Please call 250-469-8800 to speak to a recreation clerk.

Where can I purchase my pass?

The pass can only be purchased in-person at Parkinson Recreation Centre (1800 Parkinson Way) as the pass holder must have their photo taken on-site and receive a physical pass. Please note that identification is required to be shown for children aged 13 and up at time of purchase, including school ID, driver’s license, etc.

Does my child need to be present at the time of purchase?

Yes, the pass holder will need to have their photo taken for their pass at the time of purchase.

Are passes available through BC Transit?

Not at this time. The Rec & Ride Combo Pass is only available for purchase at Parkinson Recreation Centre (1800 Parkinson Way). PRC is an UMO vendor so both the PRC Summer Youth Pass and Transit Pass will be issued on site at the time of purchase. 

Can I get my card replaced if I lose or damage it?

Yes, replacement Summer Youth Pass cards providing access to the recreation centre are $5 and can be purchased at Parkinson Recreation Centre (1800 Parkinson Way).

Please note: if issued an Umo card, it must be treated like cash and can not be replaced. We recommend signing up for an Umo account via the app to help protect your purchase by transferring your card number to your app account. This will associate your Umo card to your profile.

Are children under 7 included?

Yes!  Children 6 and under are free at PRC, and also ride BC Transit for free, so there's no costs involved. 

Children under 7 can still partake in the activities outlined as part of the Summer Youth Pass, and upon request, the $2 parent/guardian drop in fee will apply when accompanying a child to Youth Pass activities.
