Intermittent closures on John Hindle Drive for Glenmore Protective Services Campus construction
Traffic Advisory
Travelers can expect intermittent short delays on John Hindle Drive (between Glenmore Drive and the Landfill entrance) from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., February 10–March 2, due to construction activity at the Glenmore Protective Services Campus (GPSC) site.
This work will support further progress on GPSC – a shared site for Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) and the Kelowna Fire Department which will serve as a multi-agency hub for emergency response, training, and collaboration, enhancing the safety and resilience of North Glenmore and the broader community. Community safety is a top Council priority. An investment totaling $49 million will provide COSAR with its first permanent home and see the aging Glenmore Fire Hall No. 5 replaced with a state-of-the-art facility and training centre. The site is strategically located near a growing residential area, the Glenmore landfill, University of British Columbia Okanagan, and the Kelowna International Airport. Please follow traffic management personnel directions, posted construction signage, and temporary barriers to ensure everyone’s safety while commuting through the area. The City of Kelowna and onsite crews appreciate your patience during construction and apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
