Highlights of October 20 Council meeting 
Rutland Rental Housing  
Council approved a rezoning application for 945 Rutland Road to allow for a six-storey rental apartment building containing approximately 60 units. The project will bring much needed rental housing, on a Transit Supportive Corridor. 
Gurdwara  
Council approved a Development Permit for a new two-storey Gurdwara Sikh temple at 2809 Benvoulin Road. The site will feature a small garden, landscaping, a walkway, plaza areas, and more than 140 parking spaces. 
Parkinson Recreation Centre re-development update  
Council received a construction update on the re-development of Parkinson Recreation Centre. Site prep is complete, and the project has moved into excavation, underground infrastructure, and foundation work. The new site will include aquatics, a gymnasium, fitness centre, childcare, multi-purpose rooms, and admin space. Park amenities will feature sports fields, courts, plazas, playgrounds, and walking/cycling trails.
