KLO Road Bridge Replacement at Mission Creek

The objective of this preliminary design assignment is to determine the most cost-effective solution for replacing the existing KLO Road bridge over Mission Creek, which is approaching the end of its effective lifespan, while improving mobility of the KLO Road corridor. The proposed corridor improvements will include multi-use pathways and cycling infrastructure, sidewalks, new bridge structure, roundabout and safer connection to the Mission Creek Greenway, and will improve all modes of mobility.

Detailed design, property acquisition and environmental approvals are in progress. The design includes an elevated bridge structure to meet the new 200 year flood projection levels and a roundabout intersection at Spiers Road. The new design will address traffic safety and operations in the vicinity of the bridge and will provide an underpass crossing for the Mission Creek Greenway.

Construction is tentatively planned to begin Spring 2025 with the potential for some preparatory "early works" occurring in 2024.
