Gyro Lift Station Upgrades

The Gyro Lift Station is located within the Boyce-Gyro Beach Park at 3400 Lakeshore Rd. The original structure was commissioned in 1979 and last upgraded in 1993 (31 years ago). This facility is one of many critical wastewater lift stations within the city and currently serves an approximate population of 23,000 people. The lift station is currently operating in a two pump arrangement, utilizing only 2 of the 3 wet well chambers available. As well, the electrical and instrumentation equipment along with the mechanical HVAC equipment have reached the end of their expected service life. The anticipated scope of work is to commission the third wetwell chamber, reconfigure the station to a triplex pump arrangement with two duty pumps and 1 standby, as well as replace and reconfigure the electrical and instrumentation components.  A new odour control system will also be incorporated into the work to accommodate the increased capacity, which will require a building expansion.
