Summer evenings are back with free fun across Kelowna
Public Service Announcement
Longer days, warmer nights and free community events are back for another summer in Kelowna. Beginning this July, residents and visitors can enjoy Park & Play, Dancing in the Park, Sunset Yoga and Roller Nights, with something happening almost every weeknight throughout July and August. Whether you're looking to get active, try something new or spend time with family and friends, these free outdoor events offer plenty of ways to make the most of summer.
Roller Nights
Grab your skates and head to Stuart Park for Roller Nights every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., July 7 to August 25. Bring your own roller or inline skates and safety gear or rent equipment on-site. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
Dancing in the Park & Sunset Yoga
Wednesday evenings in Stuart Park feature two opportunities to move and unwind outdoors. Dancing in the Park runs from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. beginning July 8, with a different style featured each week, including Zumba, hip hop, line dance and more. Find the schedule and dance styles at kelowna.ca/calendar.
Following the dance session, Sunset Yoga takes place from 8 to 9 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and enjoy an evening practice led by a certified instructor.
Park & Play
The Park & Play crew returns to neighbourhood parks across Kelowna starting Thursday, July 2. Free drop-in games and activities will take place on weeknights from 5 to 8 p.m. throughout July and August, offering fun for all ages and abilities, including a special activity as we head into the municipal election this October. Parks Alive! will be on-site during select days with musical entertainment provided by Festivals Kelowna. The full schedule can be found at kelowna.ca/parkandplay.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all events and are encouraged to walk, bike or roll to programs whenever possible. Attendees should also be prepared for warm weather with sunscreen, water and a hat.
