Join us to celebrate the reopening of the City Park pathway
Public Service Announcement
On Friday, May 15 at 1 p.m., the City Park pathway between the Cold Sands washroom and the park entrance at Bernard Avenue will reopen following a ribbon-cutting celebration.
Residents and visitors are invited to join Mayor and Council for this public event.
This section of pathway closed in fall 2025 to allow for upgrades, including separated pedestrian and recreational transportation routes, new benches, lighting, trees and landscaping, improved water access near Cenotaph Plaza and foreshore improvements.
Environmental enhancements along the shoreline, including relocation of the dog's beach, support long-term shoreline protection and park use. Natural materials such as logs and boulders, along with native planting beds and bullrushes, have been incorporated to create a more resilient shoreline. These changes help protect fish habitat, improve water quality, and reduce erosion and flooding.
