Have your say on transportation priorities for five key downtown streets
Public Engagement
Residents, especially those who live or work downtown, are invited to take a short survey about how people move around Downtown and how several streets, including Ellis St., Pandosy St., Lawrence Ave., Leon Ave. and Water St., can support future activity. The survey is open until Sunday, March 15 at getinvolved.kelowna.ca.
We’re reviewing the Downtown Urban Centre transportation network to support growth, as more people live, work and spend time in the area. This work builds on the Transportation Master Plan and looks at how downtown streets function together as a connected network, helping future upgrades continue to contribute to safer travel, improved access and more vibrant public spaces as downtown evolves.
To keep downtown welcoming and easy to get around, more trips will need to shift to biking, walking, transit, or shared rides, while also ensuring businesses have the access they need for deliveries and services.
“This transportation review looks at how downtown streets can work better together over time by making thoughtful choices about how we use our limited street space,” says Alex Wood-Seems, Transportation Planner Specialist. “Your feedback will help us understand community values and priorities as future downtown street improvements are considered.”
