Calling all artists: application season is here

Kelowna’s arts community is invited to take the next step in their creative journey as applications open for a range of City-supported artist programs.
To help artists get ready, the City of Kelowna’s Cultural Services team is hosting Artist Opportunities Info Sessions, designed to walk participants through available grants and programs, answer questions and build confidence before applying.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow your practice, these free online sessions offer practical guidance and insider tips to strengthen your application.

- June 10, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- June 11, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Join us for a one-hour session to learn what’s available, meet Cultural Services staff and get help with your application. Save your spot at kelowna.ca/artistopportunities and you’ll be sent the online meeting details.
What you can apply for
Artists can explore a range of programs designed to support creative projects, professional development and community connection:
- Community Art Grant (September 7 deadline)
Funding for projects that bring people together through art—culminating in Culture Days.
- Artist in Residence Program (August 3 deadline)
One artist or collective will lead a residency exploring Arts on Prescription—the connection between creativity, mental health and well-being.
- Youth Panel Member (July 30 deadline)
Ages 15–24 can help select the next Artist in Residence and gain real-world experience.
- Creative Youth Opportunity (June 30 deadline)
Get paid to showcase your work in the City’s Cultural Services newsletter.
Kelowna’s Cultural Services programs support artists at all stages by providing funding, mentorship and opportunities to share work in public spaces, helping build a vibrant, inclusive and creative community.
Artists are encouraged to attend an info session and take the first step toward bringing their ideas to life.
