When the 2026 Memorial Cup presented by Kubota returns to Kelowna, it won’t just be about what happens inside Prospera Place, it will be about everything happening beyond it.
From May 21 to 31, the city will come alive as a vibrant festival hub, inviting residents and visitors to experience Kelowna through music, food, culture and community connection. For many, the tournament may start with hockey, but it quickly becomes a chance to get outside, explore the downtown and take part in the celebration.
The festivities begin with a moment designed to bring the whole community together. The ceremonial arrival of the Memorial Cup features a canoe landing, parade and formal welcome at Stuart Park, followed by a Community Kickoff filled with live music, local food vendors and entertainment for all ages. It signals not just the start of a tournament, but the start of a shared city experience.
Over the 10 days that follow, Downtown becomes a place to gather, even for those without a game ticket. Outside Prospera Place, the Real Canadian Superstore Hockey Hub offers live entertainment, broadcasts and a festival-style atmosphere where fans can connect and celebrate. Just steps away, the Canco Family Zone at Stuart Park creates space for younger visitors and families, with interactive games and activities that keep kids engaged and part of the action. Whether it’s watching a game on a big screen, enjoying live performances or simply soaking in the energy Downtown, there’s always something happening.
For those looking to dive deeper into the sport, the Hockey Hall of Fame Experience at the Laurel Packinghouse offers interactive exhibits and memorabilia, giving fans a chance to connect with the history of the game. At the same time, the Mini Memorial Cup youth ball hockey tournament brings the excitement closer to home, showcasing local players and giving young athletes their own moment in the spotlight. These experiences highlight how hockey lives beyond the arena and within the community itself. Art installations can be found all around Downtown as well, highlighting the spirit of hockey.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan, a family looking for a fun day out or someone simply drawn to the buzz of a major event, there are countless ways to be part of the celebration. Learn more about all the events happening around Kelowna at kelowna.ca/memorialcup2026.
