Spring GoByBike Week returned to Kelowna from May 30 to June 5, encouraging residents of all ages to get out and ride. Over the week, residents explored the city by bike, logged their trips, and connected with others while celebrating active transportation.
This year’s celebration was powered by the community, with local organizations, volunteers, businesses, schools, and cycling advocates leading activities and events throughout the week. That community leadership is a strength and an important foundation for future GoByBike Week events. Together, they helped create opportunities for people to connect, learn, and get involved in cycling.

Although the approach was different this year, the week still brought people together, supported school participation, and highlighted the local partners who are helping make cycling more visible in Kelowna.
Highlights from this year’s GoByBike Week included:
- Kelowna Farmers’ Market + Bike Valet Kick-Off - The Kelowna Area Cycling Coalition kicked off the week at the Kelowna Farmers’ Market, encouraging people to ride to the market, explore local vendors, and take advantage of the free Bike Valet service.
- UBCO Cycling Celebration Station - UBC Okanagan brought together several campus and community partners, including BC Transit, Mountain Lifestyle, and Bikeways, for a day focused on cycling and sustainable transportation. Riders enjoyed refreshments, learned about cycling resources, practiced loading bikes onto transit racks, and explored e-bikes.
- Downtown Kelowna Association + Meet Me on Bernard - Riders were invited to stop by the Bike Valet while enjoying the energy of Meet Me on Bernard. The Downtown Kelowna Association connected with residents and promoted local businesses.
- Railside Wrap-Up - Railside Brewing hosted a community wrap-up event to mark the end of the week, featuring live music, local vendors, food, and refreshments.
- School Participation Across the Community - Elevation Outdoors supported schools in taking part, encouraging students and families to experience the benefits of active transportation.
In addition to these events, a range of community-led rides, meetups, and cycling celebrations took place across Kelowna.
Thank you to everyone who participated and logged their rides during the week. Whether you rode to work, school, for errands, exercise, or fun, each trip supports a more active and connected community.
We also extend our thanks to the many volunteers, organizations, businesses, schools, and community partners who helped make Spring GoByBike Week 2026 possible.
