News Release

The community is invited to celebrate the official unveiling of Kelowna’s new Signature Sign on Friday, June 26 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Stuart Park. Located on the waterfront promenade near the Kelowna Yacht Club, the landmark sign will be officially revealed during an unveiling ceremony led by Mayor and Council.

“Kelowna’s Signature Sign is a gathering place that reflects the spirit, character and beauty of our community,” said Derek Edstrom, Divisional Director of Partnerships and Investments. “We invite residents and visitors to join us for the unveiling and be among the first to experience this new waterfront landmark and capture a photo with family and friends.”

The Signature Sign strengthens Kelowna’s waterfront as a destination for connection, celebration and shared experiences. Designed to create memorable opportunities for residents and visitors alike, the sign combines artistic expression, interactive features and storytelling elements inspired by Kelowna’s unique identity, history and natural setting.

Guided by objectives that included creating an iconic gathering space, promoting activity along the waterfront and fostering a welcoming experience for all, the project reflects Kelowna’s commitment to vibrant public spaces. The design also acknowledges the importance of Indigenous representation and the cultural stories that contribute to the community’s identity.

Featuring illuminated letters that encourage interaction and participation, the Signature Sign is intended to become a recognizable civic landmark where people can gather, create memories and celebrate their connection to Kelowna.

The unveiling event will also act as an official kick-off to Touchdown Kelowna with BC Lions players in attendance. Learn more at kelowna.ca/calendar.
