Montenegro Dr. Subdivision

Council supported an Official Community Plan (OCP) Amendment and Rezoning Application to facilitate a future 6-lot subdivision at 1563 Montenegro Drive, within the Kirschner Mountain neighbourhood. The bylaw was forwarded to a future public hearing.

Community Care Program

Council approved a one-time budget increase of $34,000 to support the expansion of the Community Care clean-up program in Rutland. The program will now run five days a week until the end of 2026, from the previous three days a week.

Chamberlain Water Local Area Service

Council supported establishing the Chamberlain Water Local Area Service on Chamberlain Road. The initiative has been petitioned by residents, and Council has directed staff to prepare the bylaws required to implement the service.

Non-Market Lease Agreements - Sport and Sandher Fruit Packers Extension of Waste Discharge Permit

Council supported a temporary Waste Discharge Permit for Sandher Fruit Packers after several wastewater system failures led to environmental concerns, regulatory violations, and Ministry of Environment fines. The City supports extending the permit to May 31, 2027, allowing monitored discharge to the municipal system while the company completes its permanent wastewater solution, which is expected to be operational by spring 2027.
