Rutland Neighbourhood Bikeway

This project is part of the Neighbourhood Bikeways, and will provide a cyclist connection from Houghton ATC corridor to YMCA/ Solly Crt. Consultation took place in 2024, with design in 2024/2025 and construction taking place in 2026. Future connections are planned for Hartman Rd in 2026.
This bikeway project will add a muti-use path on Rutland Road, connecting the Houghton Active Transportation Corridor (ATC) to Mugford Road, and install a multi-use path on Mugford Road between Rutland Road and Sadler Road. A shared street with traffic-calming features will be installed on three road sections: Mugford Road between Sadler Road and Laurel Road, Laurel Road between Mugford Road and Hardie Road, and on Hardie Road between Laurel Road and Dodd Road. A multi-use path will also be installed on Dodd Road between Hardie Road and Bach Road, and cycle track (separated on-street bikeways) and multi-use path will be installed on Dodd Road between Bach Road and Solly Court adjacent to Rutland Arena and the YMCA.
The work will be completed in phases starting at Solly Court and working south through the neighbourhood.  Expect traffic delays in the area while construction progresses. No garbage, mail or utility interruptions are expected.
