Kane and Valley Road roundabout opens to improve safety and access

News Release

The new roundabout at Kane and Valley Road is anticipated to open to traffic this weekend, marking another milestone in building a connected and growth-ready city.

“The Kane and Valley Road roundabout is one of many city projects underway in 2025, with the City investing over 50 per cent more in the construction of new infrastructure than last year,” said Mac Logan, Infrastructure General Manager. “These investments help build community, connection, safety and sustainability, improving quality of life for residents today and into the future.”

The $1.6 million project is part of the City’s ongoing investment in infrastructure that supports safe, efficient and sustainable transportation. The roundabout will provide easier access to the area and improve safety for everyone, whether travelling by vehicle, bicycle or on foot.

In addition to the roundabout, the project includes new lighting, bike lanes and upgrades to stormwater and sanitary infrastructure, enhancing the neighbourhood and supporting long-term growth.

Roundabouts make it safer and easier for everyone to get around. They significantly reduce the number of severe collisions by slowing traffic and eliminating dangerous conflict points. They also help improve traffic flow by reducing the time drivers spend waiting at traffic lights.
