AVOID LATE PAYMENTS DURING CANADA POST DISRUPTION

Utility customers and businesses a may not receive their utility bills or other notices on time because of the Canada Post strike. Cheque payments for goods and services will also be delayed.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) initiated a nationwide strike on Thursday, September 25 in response to reforms announced by the federal government. As a result, no mail is being processed or delivered. Once operations resume, Canada Post will process mail on a first-in, first-out basis.

To avoid late payments during this disruption, utility customers and businesses are encouraged to use the City’s Property Account platform. This free, secure online tool allows users to:

  • Add and manage utility, business licence, and property tax accounts
  • View and print current and past bills and licences
  • Switch to electronic billing (eBilling) to go paperless

The City of Kelowna strongly encourages all utility customers and businesses to register for a Property Account at billing.kelowna.ca. Those already registered but still receiving paper bills can switch to eBilling immediately.

For help with utility billing, visit kelowna.ca/utilities or contact the City at [email protected] or 250-469-8757 (Option 2).

Suppliers who receive payments by cheque can arrange for pickup at City Hall or switch to electronic funds transfer by contacting [email protected].

Visit billing.kelowna.ca to register for a Property Account and switch to eBilling today.
