Activity Centre in Mission
The activity centre in Mission is envisioned to be an essential linkage to complement the Mission Recreation Park campus, serving as a strategic connector between H2O and MNP Place. Designed to amplify the activities of the vibrant Mission Recreation Park Campus, this facility is designed to host events and strengthen community connections, and features open spaces that promote health, belonging and togetherness. The all-ages activity centre in Mission will also feature 91 childcare spaces with support through the provincial ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund.
The new single-storey centre will enhance existing campus facilities by providing distinctive amenities, including community programs, cultural spaces and gathering areas, while maintaining a family-friendly and youth-oriented environment. The facility will also be seamlessly integrated with the park’s outdoor activities, strengthening its role as the campus’s ‘community living room’. With design well underway and construction scheduled from 2026 to 2027, the activity centre in Mission represents a key milestone in the Building a Stronger Kelowna (BSK) portfolio.

Project Timeline
- Fall 2023 to Winter 2024: Mission recreation ball fields - Addition of two fields.
- Fall 2023 to Spring 2024: Establish Functional Requirements of activity centre in Mission.
- 2024: Design of Mission Recreation Youth Park, Plaza, and Trail System.
- 2025: Technical Design of activity centre in Mission.
- 2025 to 2027: Construction of the activity centre in Mission.
- 2026 to 2027: Construction of Mission Recreation Youth Park, Mission Transit Exchange, Plaza and Trail System.
