Annual Adornment Refresh

Each March, the cemetery undertakes an annual adornment refresh to help keep the grounds clean and support wildlife management. Visitors are encouraged to remove any items they wish to keep before March 1.

March 1 – 14 each year

The cemetery is committed to maintaining a beautiful, safe, and well‑cared‑for space for families and visitors.

During the first two weeks of March, all memorial adornments—including flowers, decorations, and items not part of the monument—are carefully removed from plots and niches. Items are placed at the end of each row for collection until the end of March, then stored within the cemetery compound until April 30. Artificial flowers are donated at the end of March, and all remaining items are donated after the storage period.

Visitors are encouraged to remove any items they wish to keep before March 1.

The adornment refresh applies to all areas of the Cemetery, including to Pioneer sections, permanent vases, bud vases, and turf areas. We appreciate the cooperation of families and visitors in helping maintain the beauty and safety of the cemetery grounds.

Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery is the final resting place for many of the city’s early pioneers. Over time, some monuments have weathered and require care. This workshop provides guidance on proper conservation techniques, helping protect these historic markers for future generations.
