Parkinson Recreation Centre

Latest update (May 21, 2020): While we are looking forward to welcoming members and visitors back to our recreation facilities in the near future, reopening multi-use facilities such as Parkinson Recreation Centre requires a great amount of planning to effectively operate under the new guidelines. As the health and safety of our staff and patrons is our top priority, facility assessments, new processes and safety protocols will need to be completed before the doors can open.

We are currently developing a return to activity plan with the guidance of the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) and ViaSport to ensure all safety measures outlined by the BC provincial health officer can be met before spaces can reopen and activities can resume. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Phased reopening plan update: A handful of outdoor spaces have re-opened as of May 21, 2020 with physical distancing measures in place. This includes tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts (at Gyro and City Park), skate parks, the disc golf course and the BMX bike park.

  • Spaces are available for casual use only (no lessons or club bookings).
  • Tennis and pickleball courts are limited to single or doubles play with partners from the same household.
  • Players are asked to clearly mark their balls and refrain from picking up or using others’ balls.

Please note that Pickleball court space at Parkinson Recreation Centre will be available through online bookings only in partnership with Pickleball Kelowna. The online booking tool will open Thursday, May 14 at 8 a.m. through
