Many City-operated facilities in Kelowna offer room and facility rentals that can accommodate a diverse range of needs for weddingsbirthday parties, meetings and more.

Parkinson Recreation Centre

Located at 1800 Parkinson Way.

Wedding at Parkinson Recreation Centre

Large or small banquet rooms

Apple room - 6,000 sq ft

  • Popular for weddings, dinner dance, tradeshows/fairs and company parties.
  • Banquet capacity: 400 / Meeting capacity: 450

Macintosh room - 4,000 sq ft

  • Popular for weddings, dinner dance, and meetings.
  • Banquet capacity: 175 / Meeting capacity: 250  

Amenities and features available with room rental:

  • Tables and chairs - your choice of rectangular tables (8’x2.5’) seating 8 per table or round tables (5’ diameter) seating 8 per table
  • Ceiling levels: lowest 10 ft and highest 20 ft
  • Microphones and podium available upon request
  • Portable dry bar available upon request

Kitchen rental (only available as an addition to MacIntosh or Apple rental):

  • Commercial grade six ring natural gas range with 2 ovens and griddle
  • Commercial dishwasher
  • Electric steam tray
  • Deep freezer
  • Walk-in cooler
  • Dinnerware & cutlery (400 place settings), water glasses, salt and pepper shakers, coffee urns and water jugs available on request (linens and wine glasses not included).  Note: cooking equipment (such as bowls, pots, knives, cutting boards etc.) must be provided by the renter/caterer.

Cedar Creek Community Centre

Located at 5160 Chute Lake Road, in Kelowna.

  • Community room capacity 60
  • Tables and chairs on site
  • Renters are responsible for set up and take down.
  • Kitchen is equipped with a stove and sink.
  • Renters are to provide all dishes and cutlery.
  • Meeting room space of 17` x 19` - 323 square feet, capacity 25 people.
  • Community room space of 30` x 30` 900 square feet, capacity 60 people.
  • Washroom facilities located in the building.

Kelowna Community Theatre

The Kelowna Community Theatre has two spaces available for public rental and is well equipped to serve any conference, class, performance, meeting or reception needs. The complex includes an 853-seat theatre including a 236-person capacity lobby with complete backstage amenities and a 1,200 square foot Black Box Theatre (rehearsal hall). With state-of-the-art technical systems and our professional staff, your event will be well-managed from start to finish.

Kinsmen Field House Hall (Mission Recreation Park)

Kinsmen Media Centre (Mission Recreation Park)

  • Washroom facilities: Two bathrooms at the facility (additional washroom on main floor)
  • Windows on all sides, but blinds on all windows if needed

  • Building located in the middle of the ball diamonds

Okanagan Mission Activity Centre

Rutland Activity Centre

Located at 765 Dodd Rd.

  • Meeting room capacity 20 people  
  • Multi-purpose room capacity is 50 people
  • Hall capacity 150 people  
  • Kitchen has a stove, fridge and sink
  • Tables and chairs for 30 people.  Additional tables and chairs are the responsibility of the renter
  • Renter responsible for setup and takedown
  • Renter to provide all dishes, cutlery etc.

Sport Kelowna Boardroom

Located at 465 Dodd Rd (Rutland Arena).

Boardroom 14 x 20' - capacity for 10 people.

Extra fees and requirements

Insurance premiums

All renters must provide proof of liability insurance appropriate for the Facility Use Agreement. The insurance policy must be valid on the date(s) of the rental, be no less than $2 million per occurrence and must name the City of Kelowna as the additionally insured.

Insurance for most events is available through All Sport Insurance Marketing Ltd. Should a renter choose to purchase this insurance, we can forward the request and payment directly to All Sport Insurance at the time of booking.

Special Event Permit

If an event will be serving liquor, a Permission to Apply Form and Special Event Permit must be approved by the City and security must be on site during the rental (at the renter's cost). The renter must comply with the Designated Driver Awareness Program as per Council Policy 310 and all other laws, regulations and bylaws in its use of the facility.  

SOCAN & Re: Sound tariffs

The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers (SOCAN) is Canada’s national performing rights society. Its role is to license the public performances of music in return for performing rights fees.
Re:Sound is the Canadian not-for-profit music licensing company dedicated to obtaining fair compensation for artists and record companies for their performance rights.

The Copyright Act of Canada requires that users of any music pay SOCAN and/or Re:Sound Tariffs to perform or authorize others to perform or use copyright music. Performances of music in public, whether in restaurants, clubs, hotels, banquet halls, dance halls, offices, stores etc., all require payment of the tariffs whether performed live or by recording and/or when broadcasting, communicating or playing recorded music in public.


The City may require the renter pay for additional services of bonded uniformed security at functions.

Setup & takedown

We may require the renter to pay for setup and takedown, and additional janitorial services.
