Interior Savings Moonlight Movie is a family friendly, low cost open to all children, youth and families. The movie will be shown on a giant inflatable cinema screen at sundown. Everyone is encouraged to arrive early to get a good viewing spot and take part in some of the many family-friendly pre-show activities and concessions. While there is no charge to attend the event, a donation of $3 per person or $10 for a family of four is suggested. All funds raised will benefit the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.

City of kelowna property taxes are due today (July 2).

As per the provincial Community Charter legislation, taxes outstanding after July 2 will be subject to an automatic five per cent late payment penalty, with a second five per cent penalty applied on amounts owing after Aug. 6.

Chief swkn̓cut monument unveiling 2019-06-21 13:30

Westbank First Nation, in partnership with the City of Kelowna, will unveil a monument of Chief swkn̓cut in conjunction with National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations.

Time: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Place: 238 Queensway Avenue (behind the Kelowna Visitors Centre)

The monument, created by artist Crystal Przybille, communicates the pre-contact history of the syilx people and celebrates Chief swkn̓cut, an influential leader who maintained the central idea of peace between syilx people and settlers.
