Last week to shape design of 2 Rutland parks

July 7, 2025

Public Service Announcement

Community members have until July 13 to influence the future designs of Aurora Park and Rutland Lions Park. Residents are encouraged to have their voice heard by completing an online survey where they can share their preferences and priorities for the sites.

The two park projects are:

  • Aurora Park: A new neighbourhood park that will be located on an undeveloped parcel of land between Aurora Crescent and Froelich Road. Possible amenities include connective pathways, hillside playground, community garden and dog run.
  • Rutland Lions Park: An existing community-level park in the heart of Rutland at 175 Gray Rd. Improvements to the park are being planned in conjunction with the development of the new Activity Centre adjacent to Rutland Lions Park, part of the Building Stronger Kelowna initiative. Possible improvements may include accessible and illuminated perimeter pathways, playground enhancements, dog run and disc golf.

City staff will use feedback to help shape the parks uses, priorities and aesthetic options when both parks go to preliminary design this fall.
