Strengthen your neighbourhood with a grant or being a Block Connector

Public Service Announcement

Do you dream of living in a neighbourhood where neighbours know one another, look out for one another and go out of their way for one another?

Help make that dream a reality by becoming a Block Connector for your neighbourhood or hosting a neighbourhood-led project or event this fall with the help of a grant. If you have ideas that’ll bring neighbours together and enhance your neighbourhood, we have programs to support you!

Block Connector

Become a Block Connector and create connections with the closest 10-20 households on your block or apartment floor. Facilitate neighbour introductions and help strengthen neighbour relations through socials, events or whatever you feel most comfortable with.

You’ll receive resources and support from our Strong Neighbourhoods team to help you. Learn more and sign up at kelowna.ca/blockconnector.

Neighbourhood Grants

With the support of the Central Okanagan Foundation, Neighbourhood Grants provide up to $1,500 in matching funds to support projects in your neighbourhood. If you have a project or event idea that’s inclusive to all and will help foster connections with neighbours, this grant can support it.

Ideas may include planting a community garden, neighbourhood beautification, block party, paint night, talent show, porch concert, scavenger hunt, and so much more.

Applications for fall projects are currently being accepted until Aug. 25. Grants awarded will support projects to be completed between October and December 2025.
