Waste Management

The City of Kelowna's Utility Services Branch is responsible for the operations related to the disposal of solid waste.

The City of Kelowna operates and maintains the Glenmore Landfill and coordinates the production of the biosolid soil conditioner Ogogrow in cooperation with the City of Vernon. Residential garbage, yard waste and recycling collection within Kelowna is managed by the Regional Waste Reduction Office.

A cooperative program between the City of Kelowna, Regional District and District's of Peachland, Lake Country and Westside, the Waste Reduction Office oversees the weekly collection of garbage, yard waste and recycling and implements programs to reduce garbage going to local landfills.
