Culture is an important part of creating and maintaining a healthy, active and vibrant community.
The City supports local arts, culture and heritage in a variety of ways that increases cultural accessibility to all of Kelowna’s residents and visitors. Professional and Amateur
Arts, Culture and Heritage Grants assist local not-for-profit groups deliver a variety of quality performances, exhibits and other activities. Kelowna’s Community Public Art Grants engage the community to work collaboratively on art pieces that are experienced on a daily basis and promote pride in the community.
Promotion of Kelowna’s Cultural District and other arts, culture and heritage activities and attractions draw international visitors as well as local interest. Partnerships with the Kelowna Art Gallery, Kelowna Museums Society and the Rotary Centre for the Arts assist in providing spaces for educational experiences, workshops, performances, exhibits and more. Kelowna’s heritage is a major contributor to community identity and the City works to preserve the integrity of heritage while the population and city grows.
