Service Updates

Effective September 2, 2012

Quail Ridge
On September 2, 2012 transit service began in Quail Ridge. The City of Kelowna and BC Transit responded to requests from students and other transit riders to link the popular neighbourhood with the university. The #13 Quail Ridge bus is neighbourhood friendly sized and runs every 30 minutes between 7 am and 10:30 am and again from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  This route is a pilot, that will run for the 2012/13 school year.

#23 Lake Country
The #23 Lake Country route saw a dramatic 33% increase in weekday service which includes a doubling of midday service and 15 minute service in the afternoon peak. The #23 continues to provide service into UBCO and the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and beyond as well as links with the #90 North Okanagan Connector into Vernon.

Additional system service enhancements included:

  • #1 Lakeshore - additional runs to improve reliability
  • #97 Express - late night Friday and Saturday service between Downtown Kelowna and UBCO
  • #4 Pandosy/UBCO express and #6 Glenmore/UBCO will be reinstated after a summer hiatus and other routes will return to their full fall schedule
  • #14 Black Mountain – additional trips and revised schedule
