On Saturday October 29, 2011, o
ver 1700 sun seeking travellers attended the 3rd Annual Hot Sun consumer event at Kelowna International Airport (YLW). Airlines, resorts, travel agents and the Mexico Tourism Board were at the airport providing travel information, destinations and vacation deals to those attending. Entry forms with a minimum $5 donation to the event’s charity of choice – Shelter Box Canada gave the public an opportunity to win one of the many vacation packages up for grabs. YLW is pleased to announce $6,345 was raised for ShelterBox Canada – over $3000 the expected goal. This will purchase six boxes for the organization to help those world-wide who have lost their home due to disaster.
