2013 Augie Ciancone Memorial Award Recipient
Kicking, dribbling and killing are not considered lady-like behaviours but when you’re a triple sport athlete, then they are more than acceptable and Jackie Sellers is one of the best.
Kicking comes on the soccer field where Jackie helped the Kelowna Christian School girls soccer team exceed all expectations this year in the (single) A League as well as Valley finals and Provincials. Dribbling led to scoring on the basketball court, and as captain of the team, Jackie also lead the team in points scored. As for the kills, they came on the volleyball court where she was also captain of the team, leading them to win not only the BC School Sports Single A Provincial Championship, but the BC Christian School Championship as well where she was named tournament MVP.
Aside from these said behaviours, she is a selfless volunteer, often found scorekeeping for volleyball and basketball. She has given her time freely at Gleaners, the Gospel Mission and at the H2O Centre. She organized the KCS Fusion program to create connections between the grade 7s and grads and also found time to volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Academically, she maintains a 96% average at school and always maintains exemplary behaviour.
