One Block at a Time The ‘One Block at a Time’ project was initiated in 2006 by Sharon McKenna to improve the environment and therefore the health of Leon Avenue. Freshly planted shrub beds, regular clean-up and community art have invigorated the 400 block of Leon Avenue. In 2009, a mural titled ‘Okanagan Blessing’ was painted by by Graham Chambers on the back wall of 1629 Pandosy Street. In 2010, the ‘Doors of Hope’ metal panels were installed along the block. Local artists include Lynden Beesley, Mike Brodie, Graham Chambers, Lee Claremont, Liz Earl, Alex Fong, Kenna Graff and Gloria Pada.
