2011 Bike to Work Week Prize Winners
Thank you to our generous sponsors for donating prizes to our participants.
WINNING TEAMS - for each size categories
All the teams were broken down by size, based on the number of people in each workplace, department, area or floor. The winning teams get a Chocolate Gift Basket from Truffles Chocolate Cafe and seats on a September 8 Cycling Wine Tour from Monashee Adventure Tours (the number of seats depends on organization size).
Large Organizations (51+ employees/team members):
GO-N-POSTAL, Canada Post - 25% participation, 945 km cycled
Medium Organizations (21-50 employee/team members):
SOARING SPRINGVALLEY SKYHAWKS, Springvalley Elementary School Staff - 49% participation, 836 km cycled
Small Organizations (11-20 employee/team members):
TRAFFIC CALMERS, City of Kelowna - 85% participation, 1168 km cycled
Mini Organizations (1-10 employee/team members):
TEAM FITNESS PERSONAL TRAINING - 100% participation, 395 km cycled
Highest number of km cycled during the week:**
TIRES OF FIRE, UBC-O, 2871 km cycled
**We did not plan to have this category, however we want to recognize the effort and distance teams will go, so we are giving them an additional 10 shirts for their team!
Daily Prize Draws
Over a dozen daily prizes were awarded to participants who attended the daily celebration stations. Prize winners can pick up their prize at the Parkinson Recreation Centre.
