Gopher Creek Linear Park
As part of the Linear Park Master Plan, the next phase of the Gopher Creek Linear Park Trail will be constructed along Gopher Creek. The three-metre wide gravel trail will connect neighbourhoods on the north side of Highway 33 with the existing trail near Black Mountain Elementary School, via a pedestrian underpass.
The project is expected to begin in the spring 2012 once BMID completes construction of its watermain.
Elements proposed for the linear trail include the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Gopher Creek, riparian enhancement planting and to provide trail signage, benches and bollard.
Future phases will link Black Mountain Recreation Corridor to Gallagher Road Corridor and ultimately to Powerline Linear Park as outline in the proposed Linear Park Master Plan.
