Bridge & Mission Creek Greenway Closure
Gordon Drive at the bridgeclosed June 1 and is expected to reopen in September.
Alternate routes include Dehart Road to Swamp Road, and Lakeshore Road.
Construction is necessary during the summer to mitigate impacts to fish spawning in the creek.
The Mission Creek Bridge on Gordon Drive will be raised to accommodate year-round access to the Mission Greenway, widen to four lanes of traffic as well as include a shared pedestrian/cycling pathway running over Mission Creek. The project begins at Cook Road and ends at Lexington Road.
Contractor: West Shore Constructors Ltd. Consultant: Stantec Consulting Cost: Phase 1 - $2.6 million, Phase 2 - $6 million Funding in part by the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund
Mission Creek Greenway will be closed at Gordon Drive during the construction of the bridge. Access will be restricted with no-thru access. Alternate trailhead and parking areas can be found at:
1) KLO Rd and Mission Creek Greenway 2) Mission Creek Regional Park at 2245 & 2345 Springfield Rd. 3) City parking area adjacent to the greenway across from the Fortis sub-station on Hollywood Rd 5) Hollywood Road S. trailhead and parking area at 2080 Hollywood Rd S.

The first phase of four-laning Gordon Drive from Cook to Lanfranco Roads and off-road multi-use pathway was completed October 2009.
