Next steps in the parking management strategy will see the development of individual area plans, beginning with the South Pandosy area. Other areas of the City will follow, as required, pending budget approval.

The area plans will allow the City to respond to a number of issues and concerns related to parking including:

  • Changes to parking supply
  • Growing demand for short and long term parking
  • Impacts of development & activity on neighbouring residential areas

All residents, business owners, shoppers and frequenters to the South Pandosy area were encouraged to provide feedback and input to improve parking availability and customer service options.

The South Pandosy Area Parking Plan was approved by Council on June 23, 2014.

Implementation was completed in December 2014 -  Parking Strategy Map

South Pandosy Area Parking Plan - Implementation

In May, 42 residents and business owners attended a neighbourhood meeting at the Bread Company on Pandosy Street to review the DRAFT parking changes for the South Pandosy area before they were presented to council.

This was the second public meeting held. In March 48 people attended the first meeting at Blenz and contributed their ideas and feedback to the area plan.

Resident feedback was also collected online. This session is now closed, however to review the comments please click on the button below.

A new transit exchange for South Pandosy is planned for construction in the Spring/Summer of 2015 which will provide additional on-street parking in the area.
