Financial Awards
The City of Kelowna takes pride in fiscal responsibility and reporting. As such, the City of Kelowna has received a number of awards from the Government Finance Officers Association
recognizing excellence in the City's financial reporting and budget presentations.
Financial Reporting - Annual Reports
Since 2002, the City of Kelowna has received the Canadian Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting for preparing comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.
The 2008 Annual Report
marks the seventh time the City of Kelowna has won this award.
Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award recognizes the City’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To receive this award, Financial Services had to meet internationally recognized guidelines that assess how well the budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
The City of Kelowna has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation award eight times, most recently for the 2009 Budget.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a non-profit professional association that serves 17,600 government finance professionals throughout North America.
