The upgrade of Gordon Drive will add a northbound lane from Mission Creek Bridge to Lanfranco Road, a new four-lane bridge over Mission Creek, an off road multi-use pathway and a signalized intersection at Cook Road. The project is being delivered in two phases over two years.

Off-road Multi-use Pathway

The first phase of construction of the one kilometer off-road pathway was completed in the fall of 2009 along with the widening of Gordon Drive from Cook to Lanfranco Roads. A connection to Lakeshore Road via Casorso-Barrera Roads is scheduled for construction in the fall of 2010. This connection will provide a safe connection for pedestrians and cyclists to the city's recreation corridors.

New bridge

During the second phase, the existing bridge over Mission Creek will be widened to four lanes and built above the Mission Creek Greenway allowing pathway users continuous access without crossing Gordon Drive.
