Beaches and Waterparks
The City of Kelowna has three waterparks and nine beaches along its waterfront. Most boarder the beautiful Okanagan Lake and offer stunning beaches as well as various other amenities.
In addition, Kelowna has many waterfront boardwalks and a number of beach access points along our waterfront. Visit the Parks Alive! website for our summer entertainment schedule.

Cedar Creek Park 5200 Lakeshore Road
This long and narrow pebble beach is well known and quite unique to the Okanagan. Picnic tables are available and portable washrooms are on site. Cedar Creek is Kelowna's only dog friendly waterfront park. Boyce - Gyro Beach 3400 Lakeshore Road
Arguably one of Kelowna's most well known beaches, Gyro is a favourite of the local younger crowd. Snack venues, rental shops, volleyball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas and washroom facilities provide fun for every age.
Hot Sands Beach - City Park 1600 Abbott Street
Located at the centre of the Kelowna's downtown  core, City Park is always buzzing with excitement and activity. Enjoy the park's long sandy beaches, volleyball and basketball courts, grassy fields, playground, recently upgraded waterpark, skatepark, and washroom and changeroom facilities. Take a stroll along the boardwalk and observe the many local venders, or chow down on a tasty burger at the snack bar. During the summer months, live music can be heard on the Parks Alive! stage. Surrounded by downtown Kelowna's many restaurants and retail stores, you will never run out of things to do and see at City Park!
Kinsmen Park 2600 Abbott Street
Tall leafy trees and large grassy areas, give Kinsmen Park the perfect amount of sun and shade. Dip your feet into Lake Okanagan, have lunch at one of the picnic tables, play a round of tennis or enjoy the on-site playground while taking in the Okanagan heat. Kinsmen Park is fully equipped with washrooms for your convenience.
Rotary Beach Park 3726 Lakeshore Road
Rotary Park has designated swimming areas, change rooms, playgrounds, picnic areas and more. Known for its kite boarding and wind surfing, Rotary is the ideal spot to enjoy your favourite water sport. Fine dining and plenty of accommodations nearby makes this beach a hot spot for tourists and locals alike!
Sarson's Beach Park
4398 Hobson Road
This neighborhood beach sits off Lakeshore Road on the corner of Hobson and Sarson Road. Its smaller size gives the park a homey feel. A playground is located on site, and in addition, picnic tables, designated swimming areas and washroom facilities are offered.
Strathcona Park 2290 Abbott Street
Located next to the Kelowna General Hospital, Strathcona Park has designated swimming areas, picnic tables, public washrooms and a playground for the young at heart. Surrounded by tall oak trees, its large grassy area provides the perfect setting to curl up with a good book or relax with friends and family.
Sutherland Park Located at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Ellis Street, Sutherland Park sits at the base of Knox Mountain and is perfect for those who love to be active. In addition to the grassy fields and kid friendly playground this park is equipped with tennis courts, washroom facilities and is only two steps away from the many pedestrian and bike trails Knox Mountain has to offer. Swimming at Sutherland Park is not recommended due to poor water quality.
Tugboat Bay - Waterfront Park 1200 Water Street
Located at the heart of the city, Waterfront Park has unbeatable views of Lake Okanagan, sandy beaches, beautifully landscaped gardens, washroom facilities, paddle boat rentals and boat launches. Observe Kelowna's diverse wildlife that inhabit the Rotary Marshes located at the north end of the beach. Take a stroll, or enjoy the delicious restaurants, located along the boardwalk which follows the waters edge all the way to City Park. If you're lucky, you may even catch some local talent on the Island performance stage.
