Rutland Road Realignment

In December 2006, Council awarded the engineering of the Rutland Road Realignment Project to Associated Engineering Ltd.

The project is to realign a portion of Rutland Road between Cornish Road and Old Vernon Road.  The construction of an interim three-lane arterial roadway will tie in to the same three lane configuration constructed on Rutland Road between Old Vernon Road and Rains Road.  The design will take into consideration an ultimate four-lane arterial design to accommodate future traffic volumes.

The existing Rutland Road will become a cul-de-sac south of Old Vernon Road. This will improve traffic conditions in the vicinity of Highway 97/Old Vernon Road by removing two closely spaced intersections.

The Rutland Road Realignment is apart of the 2020 Official Community Plan and will be constructed upon budgetary approvals.
